So a gun with serial number 210566 was made in 1979 (100 - 21 = 79).All the websites for dates of manufacture of both Marlin and Remington firearms stopped with 2002 or 2009 as the last reference. A phone call to Marlin Cust Service was answered by a representative that told me according to my serial number, my 336C was made in the second quarter of 2012 including the barrel. My problem is with the serial number - there is no prefix. The number "259" is stamped below the lever and on two locations internal... but they all are just "259". The stock has an uncapped pistol grip, and the barrel, marked 39A, does not specify "mico-groove".
